dar-static software package provides Disk ARchive: Backup directory tree and files, you can install in your Ubuntu 14.04 LTS (Trusty Tahr) by running the commands given below on the terminal,
$ sudo apt-get update $ sudo apt-get install dar-static
dar-static is installed in your system.
Make ensure the dar-static package were installed using the commands given below,
$ sudo dpkg-query -l | grep dar-static *
You will get with dar-static package name, version, architecture and description in a table
